The ethical practice of the Health Professions Council of SA requires consistent and ongoing commitment to lifelong learning by all healthcare practitioners, through the process of Continuous Professional Development (CPD). CPD assists healthcare professionals to update and develop their knowledge, skill and ethical attitudes that underpin competent practice. A healthcare practitioner is required to engage and accumulate CEU’s per twelvemonth period of which a specific number of the CEUs should be for ethics, human rights and medical law.
