The Council regulates the health professions in the country in aspects pertaining to registration, education and training, professional conduct and ethical behaviour, ensuring continuing professional development, and fostering compliance with healthcare standards.

Annual fees
Below are the annual fees payable by persons registered in terms of the Health Professions Act No. 56 of 1974, shall be due and payable with effect from 1 April 2019. 
  • Fees include 15% VAT rate

MLS Medical Laboratory Scientist 1490.00
MT Medical Technologist 1490.00
SGT Supplementary Medical Technician 1045.00
GT Medical Technician 655.00
SLA Supplementary Laboratory Assistant 620.00
LA Laboratory Assistant 620.00

Registration fee
Registration fees are payable by persons to be registered in terms of the Health Professions Act No. 56 of 1974:
Registration fees by - 
(a) Health Practitioner 770.00
(b) Student 260.00
(c) student for re-registration as a student after interruption of at least one year 140.00
(d) visiting student 765.00
(e) visiting student for re-registration after an interruption of at least one year 140.00
(f) student, as penalty, per month or part thereof, for the late submission of an application for registration 120.00
(g) health practitioner for registration of additional qualification or additional professional category 280.00
(h) intern 280.00

NB: Registration fees are different from annual fees and are paid upon registration with HPCSA.
