Board members are responsible for the establishment of committees and the appointment of chairpersons of committees.
In terms of Regulation 2 of the Regulations relating to the functions and functioning of the Professional Board, the Professional Board at its first meeting each year, has to appoint Committees which would function until the first meeting of the Professional Board in the following year.
The Board also appoints the Chairperson of each Committee, except in the case of the Executive Committee of the Professional Board, which is chaired by the Chairperson of the Professional Board. The composition, quorum and terms of reference of each Committee have to be determined by the Professional Board.

The closing date for the Special Board Ultrasound Examination is extended to 28 February 2021. The Special Board Examination is scheduled for the end of November 2021 to cover one day of theory and two days for clinical. The exact dates will be communicated in due course.

It has come to the attention of the RCT Professional Board for Radiography and Clinical Technology (the Board) that there may be certain unethical/unprofessional practices taking place regarding the applications for the Special Board Examination: Ultrasound (Supervised Practice). All practitioners are urged to carefully read the Guidelines, Application Form and Logbook under the Examinations section of the Board’s website to ensure that they are familiar with all the requirements for those wishing to undertake the Special Examination.
REMINDER TO ALL APPLICANTS:
The completed application Form 184 (Ultrasound – Supervised Practice) for temporary accreditation of the clinical facility should be submitted together with the application form.
All diagnostic radiographers who qualified after 1 January 1994 and are performing ultrasound without the Board approved qualifications and registration in the category Ultrasound and who do not apply to undertake the Special Board Exam in the category Ultrasound (Supervised Practice) by 30 September 2020, should cease practicing ultrasound acts with immediate effect.

Call for Evaluators |
The Education, Training and Registration Committee of the Professional Board for Radiography and Clinical Technology conducts evaluations of Higher Education programmes that lead to registration as a Radiographer of Clinical Technologist. To achieve this , the Board requires professionals to conduct the evaluations in order to ensure that the minimum standards of training are achieved. The Board wishes to call for evaluators and requests that interested professionals fill in and submit the evaluators nomination form.
