PROFESSIONAL BOARD
EMERGENCY CARE
We were constituted in terms of the Regulations relating
to the Constitution of the Professional Board for Emergency
Care contained in Regulation
No. R 1254 of 28 November 2008. The current Professional
Board will hold office until June 2015.
The following professions are registered under the auspices
of the Professional Board for Emergency Care,
namely:
- Emergency Care Practitioners
- Paramedics
- Emergency Care Technicians
- Basic Ambulance Assistants
- Operational Emergency Care Orderlies

Please note that the information on “NEW REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS FOR BAAs on page 14 of the newsletter of December 2012 with regards to the matric certificate should read as follows:

The matric certificate must be notarised by a NOTARY PUBLIC, i.e. an attorney in his/her capacity as a Notary Public and should bear the necessary stamp. The identity document may be certified by a Commissioner of Oath. Should you be able to submit the original matric certificate, it will not be necessary for it to be notarised.

The Board has noted that while the majority of its accredited providers are in compliance, there are those providers that deliberately transgress accreditation criteria and stipulations. Additionally, more than 1400 people were deregistered by the Board following an in-depth investigation by the Board into the quality of training and education provided by the Limpopo Ambulance Training Academy (LATA). » read more
