DIETETICS AND NUTRITION
A Dietitian is an expert on diet and nutrition. Within the profession there is a constant learning of skills and application of knowledge, allowing Dietitians to establish and implement the guidelines of maintaining healthy nutritional practises for all individuals.
Some other aspects of the field include treating individuals
through specific dietary principles, perhaps related to
an illness; offering guidelines for adequate food and nutrition
in community institutions and participation in research
aspects of the field.
The following professions are registered under the auspices
of the Professional Board of Dietetics.
- Supplementary Dietitians
- Student Dietitians
- Student nutritionists
- Supplementary Nutritionists
Nutrition Board Examination
The Professional Board for Dietetics and Nutrition in February 2014 RESOLVED that applicants who were approved to sit for the Nutrition Board Examination after the Grand Father Clause provision may contact University of Venda and North West University to arrange to sit for the final year examinations. Applicants are informed that the all arrangements should be made with the institution and that university rules will apply.
