The Council regulates the health professions in the country in aspects pertaining to registration, education and training, professional conduct and ethical behaviour, ensuring continuing professional development, and fostering compliance with healthcare standards.

Registration with the HPCSA is a pre-requisite for professional practice and it is also a legal requirement to keep all personal details up to date at all times.

As a patient, you have rights and responsibilities. If your rights to good health have been violated or ethical standards breached, you have the right to complain.
